2023 Pro Bono Design

Discovery House - Pride Progress Shirt Designs

I collaborated with Discovery House to create t-shirt designs that are not only legible and easily identifiable but also adhere to the organization's brand guidelines. These designs were intended for their participation in the Pride Parade, symbolizing their solidarity and support for the LGBTQIA2S+ community.

Discovery House - Social Media Package

I was approached by Discovery House to create Social Media Posts to welcome their new Board of Directors members. The design process involved multiple iterations, culminating in the final versions presented here. The posts were tailored to different sizes suitable for sharing on Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

When collaborating with nonprofit organizations, I prefer to present a few initial design concepts to gauge the desired post direction. After a collaborative decision-making process, we settled on a visually captivating yet elegantly simple layout that harmonized with the Organization's brand guidelines.

After these posts were published on their social media platforms, Discovery House reached out to me with the exciting news that the engagement for these posts had been outstanding in comparison to their typical content.

Please check out the Discovery House on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter to see the posts.

Design & Install - Box Truck Graphics.
My responsibilities included working closely with the client to achieve their desired look while adhering to their branding guidelines, designing the graphics with supplied photos, preparing scale files to print on HP Latex Printer, and writing copy.
One of the main challenges of the project was avoiding seams in the truck to ensure a seamless appearance of the final product.
In addition to modifying the design on the passenger side door to ensure visual consistency with the rest of the truck, I also had to alter the design on the rear door to avoid cutting off text due to the handle. Despite these challenges, I successfully designed and assisted with installing the graphics on the box truck.

Design - GMC Canyon Full Wrap

My responsibilities included working closely with the client to achieve their desired look, designing the graphics, preparing scale files to print on HP Latex Printer, and writing copy.
The main challenges of the project was designing around the shape of the GMC canyon as the surface is very uneven

Steel Works Tattoo, double sided illuminated push through acrylic signage.

My task was to design an old-fashioned, projecting neon-like sign for our client. However, given the many drawbacks of traditional neon, we explored alternatives such as faux neon. Ultimately, we decided to fabricate a custom sign that would not only cost less, but also look better when installed.

To create this sign, we used a one inch thick square tubing as the main skeleton, which was powder coated in a glossy black finish. We then did a reverse cut on 3mm black Aluminum Composite, adding grooves to facilitate folding around the corners. The end result was a high-quality, durable sign that resembled the classic neon look our client desired.

Designing this sign was a significant challenge, particularly in creating the 3D diamond shapes out of brushed gold 3mm aluminum composite. Finding the correct angles to achieve the desired shape was a complex process that required careful planning and precise execution. One of the biggest challenges we faced was ensuring that the individual pieces were large enough to fit on our material while still retaining the horizontal brushed texture.

Efficient nesting was not an option in this case, as we needed to preserve the texture and appearance of the brushed gold material. Despite these challenges, we were able to successfully create a stunning 3D sign that met our client's expectations and showcased our team's expertise and attention to detail.

During my 3-month practicum, I reported to the Director of Community Relations and collaborated with a colleague to produce the script and audio for a project. Once the audio was complete, I was tasked with creating a short webinar for YouTube. Working with SafeLink (previously known as HIV Community Link) provided me with valuable experience in working within brand guidelines and creating inclusive imagery that avoided reinforcing any stigmas.

This experience allowed me to develop my skills in project management, creative design, and adherence to branding guidelines. It also provided me with an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful project that served an important cause, further enhancing my passion for creating impactful content.
